Storage, storage, storage! It's what we all need but never have enough of. If you aren't one of the lucky few who happens to live in a wonderfully designed house that is packed full of storage space, then this little piece will be a MUST READ for you.

There are plenty of ways to add storage space to your home and keep it neat and tidy, remember that is KEY!

If everything has a home, it's sooo much easier to keep your house organised and "visitor ready".

If you don't have amazing storage space built in and designed for you by a talented designer (not naming any one in particular... but seriously) you'll be looking for some alternatives. Here it is.

There are three basic things to keep your prized possessions stored out of sight and out of mind.

SHELVES, BASKETS AND TUBS

These three things will ALWAYS come in handy and are never a waste of money.

You can combine baskets and a simple shelving unit together to create interest and a fab way to hide where you keep your nicknacks. With baskets on your shelves you will double, if not triple your usable space.

Plastic tubs (the ones with wheels and a lid), get them in every size and put them wherever they fit: under the bed, in the wardrobe, outside, in the garage, in the roof. Not only will they help you be super organised, they will protect your goodies from dust, moisture, mice and baby pandas.

Bearing this in mind, there is one idea I haven't mentioned and they are key to saving space especially for apartment dwellers and parents.

FURNITURE WITH BUILT IN STORAGE. This is by far the most efficient way of tidying up. Why not use the space in an item that already has to exist in your house. You can be super clever and DIY a storage bench seat or splurge for a new bed with storage underneath.

There are so many different types of storage solutions, it's near impossible to fit them all into a little blog post. Remember to use the space you already have and think outside the box (or in this circumstance, inside) for how to maximise the space you have. As always: Pinterest is your friend.

For a more structured, well thought out storage solution, contact me and I will work with you to design your storage that you will be proud to have on display.
